Drinking in Providence

Quick List of Bars I would recommend

Ogies Trailer Park -  Its a bar based around American kitsch that is clean, fun and has a great drink menu alongside their gourmet tater tots. Weekends can be pretty lively here.

The Avery - the bar is set in front of a beautiful art nouveau backdrop and has a Lovecraft martini. The vibe is typically more on the chill side but I appreciate that.

Justine's  - taking inspiration from a speakeasy, this bar's entrance is behind a lingerie shop.

RiffRaff Bookstore & Bar  - Literally named, this is a bar and a bookstore combined so for those of you who want to live within the pages of a book, here is the perfect spot!

Dusk - this bar has goth nights and live music, look over their calendar when planning your trip and possibly match it up with an awesome metal, goth, indie etc show!

the Hot Club - this bar has amazing views over the water both inside and out and a pretty well known karaoke night.

Lili Marlene's - This may be my favorite bar because it is typically quiet, has available seating and the lighting is very very dim. like inside a coffin dim.

the Stable - One of the better known gay bars in the city, their Sangria is amazing.

the Dark Lady - Half bar/ half club I always have a good time here. The drag Queens are great, the pole dancers are fun to watch and the karaoke night is amazing.

Food & Drinks

You probably didn't know that Providence is a foodie city and has some awesome places to eat. Below are a few of my favorites in the city to eat or get a drink!

Red Fez

They tend to play awesome music like the Sisters of Mercy, Nick Cave and the Pixies-- so 5 stars for Ambiance. The Menu changes frequently but everything I have ordered has been great and the drinks range from custom cocktails to cans of beer.

One of the first places I went to when I moved to Providence, this hip restaurant is mostly New American with plenty of Veggie and Vegan options and a full bar. It's hard to go wrong and there is outdoor seating in the warmer months.

Duck and Bunny

This is special little spot that has adorable victorian parlor-esque decor and outdoor seating as well. It's located on Wickenden St which is one of the cutest areas to walk around so bonus points for being located in one of the best neighborhoods in the city. Also, Crepes. So many crepe options.

Troop PVD

TBH I have only had drinks and small plates here but in that time I have watched others take IG worthy food pics to post so it must be good. Probably? Either way, get the pineapple upside down drink and yuca fries. The vibe of this newer restaurant is 90s skater/hiphop and I love it.

My favorite of all foods is Mexican, if you agree, this is where you want to go in Providence. The recently remodeled restaurant has amazing margaritas, great guacamole and an inspired menu.

the Grange

The Grange is great, especially if you are vegetarian or vegan -- you will find a lot of options here. They boast farm to table foods and their menu always has something that I love. The roasted cauliflower and korean tacos are amazing. However, they have live music nights-- usually on Wednesday and Sunday and I would advise you skip those nights for dinner. It tends to be loud and overbearing and you will have zero conversation while it is happening.
